We are honored to be the co-chairs of this year’s silent auction—the 38th in Washington Project for the Arts’ (WPA’s) history. Over the years, this always incredible event has provided thousands of people the opportunity to build their collections, support local artists, and sustain WPA’s imaginative programs.
We want to use this opportunity to announce two changes. The biggest is renaming the event Collectors’ Night: A Silent Auction to Benefit Artists to emphasize the fact that while WPA privileges its relationship to artists all year round, this particular night is for art buyers. Nowhere else in the DC area can you find such a quality selection of art for sale under one roof at one time. The second change is that we offered early-bird pricing for the first time. We implemented this to thank our many loyal friends who attend year after year. Those who took advantage of this now have extra money to spend on the art.
We would like to thank the many people who are working so hard to make this a memorable event, among them the WPA board and staff, the sponsors and the host committee, the extraordinary art committee, former board member Dr. Fred P. Ognibene and current board member Angie Kang, and the many artists who are exhibiting their work. We also want to thank MRP Realty (Allison Johnson) and streetsense (Chris Delucchi) for their inspiring generosity.
We invite you to join us for a night you won’t forget, and encourage you to purchase your
tickets before they sell out.
